• Whitfield Diffe Spent his childhood in Queens New York where he had an interest in Mathematics from an early age.

• Studied Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965.
• Studied as a graduate student on proof of correctness of computer programs at Stanford University
• He was awarded a Doctorate in Technical Sciences (Honoris Causa) by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1992.
